Community Transport for East Hampshire

A Community Transport East Hampshire user being helped into a CTEH minibus

CTEH provides an accessible transport service in and around the Grayshott and Bordon areas. Over the past year alone CTEH has undertaken 25,000 passenger journeys travelling over 47,000 miles.

Community Action Hampshire has been managing the project for nearly 20 years and from humble beginnings CTEH now operates a fleet of six 15-16 seater, wheelchair accessible minibuses and one five seater people carrier covering the whole of the East Hampshire district.

The minibuses are available for group hire with a volunteer driver provided or groups can hire the vehicles and use their own suitably qualified driver. User groups include: day centres, lunch clubs, pre-school groups, theatre clubs, shopping clubs, scout and cub groups and many more.

These services could not operate without the dedicated and loyal support of 17 volunteer drivers, who drove the CTEH minibuses for a total of 6,000 hours last year.

"We've been using the Community Transport team based at Bordon for well over a year now and I have always found the staff, especially Lynne, who deals with our bookings and Roger, our driver, to be extremely helpful. The kindness and compassion shown by Roger especially, has been noted by all of my colleagues and our residents." Barbara Smith, Acacia House Nursing Home

'Call and Go': new bus service

Community Transport for East Hampshire won the contract to operate the new 'Call and Go' bus service, which started in May 2009. The new service brings together the Dial-a-Bus and Dial-a-Ride Services.

The services will continue to operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and the first and third Saturday of the month, taking passengers to a variety of locations around East Hampshire. The fares will remain the same and passengers will still be able to use their bus passes to enable them to travel for free. The only change to the service is that all passengers must book their seats in advance by calling CTEH on 01420 475759.

CTEH has over 10 years experience operating community transport services. The 'Call and Go' service is funded by Hampshire County Council and East Hampshire District Council.
